The UJA-Federation of New York JCC Digital Co-Op

The UJA-Federation of New York is an organization that helps meet the needs of the Jewish and New York communities through the power of collective action. They wanted to better serve the community at large by offering a unified Web experience to their local Jewish community center partners that aid in serving their membership. The UJA turned to NP Group to create a system that could ease internal workflows while offering a better front-end user experience across all partner websites. NP Group built a custom modular editing system within WordPress to give each JCC the ability to build unique pages composed of parts, or modules, as opposed to the traditional WordPress template system. NP Group also created a new front-end design for four of the UJA’s partners, including the Riverdale YM-YWHA, Sephardic Community Center, JCC on the Hudson, and the 14 th Street Y. This overall project has resulted in JCC websites that are easy to navigate and visually appealing—a true representation of the community’s commitment to quality programs and Jewish enrichment, and a united platform for their message. Each JCC has more than 20 flexible modules to choose from, allowing admins to assemble and rearrange each page as required. Since every JCC has unique needs, this structure gives each partner the freedom to manage their website and adapt their messaging, events, and ever-changing schedules without depending on prefab templates. All JCC websites are now mobile-device responsive and optimized for search engines.
